This is the first set of lyrics i am working on for one of the micro songs (Micro3) i'm working on with Hilder. This is a rough draft, unfinished, the piece of music has a repeating progression so it's just three stanzas. No melody yet, just phrasing over the music.

Lately Hilder and I have been idly discussing doing a small music thing together. There was talk of trying to start a new band but that's possibly a bit much to start with. I mean, they'd be other people involved, can't be insular with outsiders.

In 63 days I am going to turn 30. It's weird. I know that thirty is an arbitrary number, a nice round figure. I know that I've already had my thirtieth xmas, my thirtieth Easter and my thirtieth new years.

Achievement Unlocked: Relive something from your teens

Soap Operas. Most people have either an open or a sneaky love of some form of Soap Opera. Soap Opera's are like dramas except without any of the quiet bits and like real life except for all the dull bits where nothing happens as you wait for a bus. Whether it is the amnesia riddled plots of US hospital soaps or the pervading sense of misery and doom in Eastenders (still only on its first series, but episode 4216 airs this week) there's something for everyone. Even wrestling.

As we approach the "less than a year until 2012" point of 2011 I've noticed a huge ramp up in the number of adverts that have a 2012 logo attached. It got me thinking what an odd concept this kind of sponsorship is. A big company offers the organisers and participants of 2012 their product/service in a large enough quantity that in return the Olympic committee emails them copies of the logo to put on all subsequent advertisements.

In the past I have been a fairly intermittent blogger to say the least. Bursts of activity then periods of silence. Like some sort of loquacious volcano. Hopfully I can start plowing enough random bits and pieces into posts that it sustains this time.
